Indications/Uses
Atopic dermatitis in patients not adequately responsive to or are intolerant of conventional therapies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply once daily or bid to the affected areas. Reinitiate bid treatment if signs of a flare reoccur. 0.03% oint Adult & childn 2-15 yr. 0.1% oint Adult only.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Evaluate for relative risk & benefit in the presence of clinical skin infection. Rare cases of skin malignancies & lymphomas. Minimize exposure of the skin to natural or artificial sunlight. Not recommended in patients having skin conditions w/ a skin barrier defect eg, Netherton's syndrome, lamellar ichthyosis, generalized erythroderma or cutaneous graft versus host disease. Not recommended for oral application or in long term continuous use. Consider further treatment options if signs or symptoms of atopic dermatitis does not improve. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Application site dermatitis, erythema, irritation, edema, pain, paraesthesia, pruritus, reaction, & warmth; local skin infection regardless of specific etiology including eczema herpeticum, folliculitis, herpes simplex, herpes virus infection, Kaposi's varicelliform eruption; increased drug level; alcohol intolerance; burning sensation, hyperaesthesia; acne, pruritus, rosacea.
Drug Interactions
Avoid concurrent use w/ UVA, UVB, or in combination w/ psoralen (PUVA) therapy. Other dermal prep, & UV therapy.
