Short-term treatment of moderate pain particularly following surgery & fever. Analgesic or antipyretic especially in the elderly & in patients whom salicylates or other NSAIDs are contraindicated including asthmatics, w/ history of peptic ulcer & childn.
IV infusionPatient >50 kg 1 g every 4 or more hr as single dose to a max of 4 g daily, 33-50 kg 15 mg/kg every 4 or more hr to a max of 60 mg/kg or 3 g daily, 10-33 kg 15 mg/kg or 2 daily as single dose. Administer as 15 min IV infusion.
