Pantoprazole (as Na sesquihydrate) 40 mg, domperidone 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic management of burning in various acid peptic disorders associated w/ nausea & vomiting; GERD, reflux esophagitis, non-ulcer dyspepsia, gastroparesis & idiopathic hiccup or any other peptic disease accompanied by nausea &/or vomiting (eg, acute gastritis including NSAIDs-induced).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. GI hemorrhage, perforation & prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hepatic impairment & renal dysfunction. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Headache. Pantoprazole: Dizziness, skin rash, pruritus. Domperidone: Dystonic reactions; galactorrhea, gynecomastia; dry mouth, diarrhea, skin rashes, itching thirst, drowsiness, nervousness.
Drug Interactions
Domperidone: May antagonize the effect w/ anti-cholinergic agents & opioid analgesics. Suppresses the peripheral effects of dopaminergic antagonists. May influence the absorption of concomitant orally administered drugs eg, SR or EC formulations. May interfere w/ other hyperprolactinaemic agents & some diagnostic tests. Lowered bioavailability w/ antacids & anti-secretory agents. Decreased oral bioavailability w/ cimetidine or Na carbonate.
