Indications/Uses
Treatment of duodenal & gastric ulcer, H. pylori eradication in PUD, reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, patients considered to be at risk of aspiration of gastric contents during general anesth/acid aspiration prophylaxis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Reflux esophagitis Usual dose: 20-40 mg once daily. Maintenance: 20 mg once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Initially 60 mg once daily, doses 20-120 mg daily may be used.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately before a meal.
Special Precautions
Exclude malignancy if gastric ulcer is suspected.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, constipation, skin rash, nausea & headache.
Drug Interactions
Warfarin, phenytoin, diazepam & cyclosporine.
