Used for the emergency restoration of BP in acute hypotensive states eg shock. Locally applied soln have been used to control bleeding in upper GI hemorrhage & similar disorders.
Contains Na metabisulfite. Monitor BP & infusion rate. Patients w/ hypoxia or hypercapnia. Correct hypovolemia. May reduce placental perfusion throughout pregnancy & in late pregnancy, it provokes uterine contractions which can result in fetal asphyxia.
C01CA03 - norepinephrine ; Belongs to the class of adrenergic and dopaminergic cardiac stimulants excluding glycosides. Used in the treatment of hypotension.
