Contents
Losartan K 50 mg, amlodipine besilate 5 mg
Indications/Uses
HTN, angina pectoris & mild to moderate HTN alone or in combination w/ other antihypertensives.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Usual starting & maintenance dose: 1 tab once daily, may be increased to 2 tab once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Special Precautions
Bilateral renal artery stenosis or stenosis of artery to single kidney, aortic valve stenosis & hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, symptomatic hypotension, patients w/ heart failure, porphyria. Hepatic & renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Edema, dizziness, flushing & palpitation. Fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, somnolence. Arrhythmia, peripheral ischemia.
Drug Interactions
Decreased effect w/ NSAIDs. Concurrent use may reduce antihypertensive effect w/ sympathomimetics. May lead to elevation of serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics. Amlodipine: May produce additive antihypertensive & anti-anginal effects w/ SL nitroglycerin, long-acting nitrates, β-blockers or other antianginal.
