Eperisone HCl
Indications/Uses
Spastic paralysis in cerebrovascular diseases, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, post-op sequelae (including cerebrospinal tumor), sequelae to trauma (spinal trauma, head injury), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinocerebellar degeneration, spinal vascular diseases, other encephalomyelopathies. Improvement of myotonic symptoms in cervical syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulders & lumbago. Tension-type headache.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 3 tab daily in 3 divided doses after meals.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Hepatic function disorder. Weakness, light-headedness, sleepiness or other symptoms may occur that may affect patients engaging in potentially hazardous activities requiring alertness eg, operating machinery or driving a car. Pregnancy. Avoid use during lactation. Discontinue breastfeeding during treatment. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Rash; sleepiness, insomnia, headache & numbness in the extremities; nausea/vomiting, anorexia, stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation & thirst; weakness, light-headedness & generalized fatigue; hot flushes. Elevation of AST (SGOT), ALT (SGPT) & Al-P; proteinuria & elevation of BUN; anemia; pruritus; stiffness & tremor in the extremities; stomatitis & feeling of enlarged abdomen; urinary retention, urinary incontinence & feeling of residual urine; muscle hypotonia & dizziness; diaphoresis, edema & palpitations.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ methocarbamol may cause disturbance of visual accommodation.
