Mometasone furoate
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses eg, psoriasis & atopic dermatitis. Scalp lesions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply a thin film to the affected area once daily.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if irritation or sensitization develops. Use appropriate antibacterial agent in the presence of infection. Systemic absorption may be increased if used in large surface area or in occlusive dressing. Long-term use especially in infants & childn. Not for ophth use. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Paresthesia, pruritus, skin atrophy. Irritation, hypertrichosis, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, striae & miliaria.
