Letrozole
Indications/Uses
1st-line treatment of advanced/metastatic breast cancer (hormone receptor +ve or receptor status unknown) in postmenopausal women.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to letrozole, or other aromatase inhibitors. Severe hepatic dysfunction. Pregnancy, lactation & premenopausal women.
Special Precautions
May impair physical &/or mental abilities required for operating machinery or driving. Hepatic & renal impairment. Patients w/ or at risk of osteoporosis.
Adverse Reactions
Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea; asthenia; hot flushes; dizziness; drowsiness; headache & rash. Hair thinning, vag dryness or bleeding, myalgia, arthralgia, & bone fractures. Abnormalities in liver enzyme values, thromboembolism & increases in total cholesterol.
