Treatment for resp tract infection (including otitis media), skin & soft tissue infections. Prophylaxis of opportunistic mycobacterial infections. Treatment of leprosy. H. pylori eradication in treatment for PUD.
TabAdult 250 mg bid for 7-14 days, increased to 500 mg bid in severe infections. Disseminated infection due Mycobacterium complex 500 mg bid in conjunction w/ other anti-mycobacterials. SuspChildn 7.5 mg/kg bid up to a max of 500 mg bid for non-mycobacterial infections. Duration: 5-10 days depending on the pathogen & the severity of the condition. Childn w/ CrCl <30 mL/min Reduce dose by ½ ie, up to 250 mg once daily or 250 mg bid in more severe infections. Dosage should not be continued beyond 14 days.
