Indications/Uses

Prevention & therapy of damages due to faulty/deficient protein metabolism in chronic renal insufficiency.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 70 kg 4-8 tab tid given if GFR is <25 mL/min.

Administration

Should be taken with food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.

Contraindications

Hypercalcemia, disturbed amino acid metabolism.

Special Precautions

Hypophosphatemia. Monitor serum Ca level.

Adverse Reactions

Hypercalcemia.

Drug Interactions

Tetracycline affects Ca absorption. As uremic symptoms improve, Al hydroxide administration has to be reduced.
