Hybip-165 Valsartan 160 mg, amlodipine besilate 5 mg. Hybip-170 Valsartan 160 mg, amlodipine besilate 10 mg
Indications/Uses
Essential HTN; in adult whose BP is not adequately controlled on amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Take w/ water.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe hypotension; shock (including cardiogenic shock); haemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute MI. Concomitant use w/ aliskiren-containing products in patients w/ DM or renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2). Obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle. Severe hepatic impairment, biliary cirrhosis or cholestasis. Pregnancy (2nd & 3rd trimester).
Special Precautions
Na- &/or vol-depleted patients. Concomitant use w/ K supplements, K-sparing diuretics, salt substitutes containing K or other products containing K. Patients w/ unilateral or bilateral renal artery stenosis; recent kidney transplantation. Primary hyperaldosteronism, angioedema, heart failure, post-MI infarction, aortic & mitral valve stenosis. Dual blockade of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Mild to moderate hepatic impairment. Monitor K levels & creatinine in moderate renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Nasopharyngitis, flu, hypersensitivity, headache, syncope, orthostatic hypotension, edema, pitting/facial edema, edema peripheral, fatigue, flushing, asthenia, hot flush.
Drug Interactions
Antagonized antihypertensive effects w/ NSAIDs. Reduced antihypertensive effects w/ sympathomimetics. May lead to elevation of serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics. May produce additive antihypertensive & antianginal effects w/ SL nitroglycerin, long-acting nitrates, β-blockers or other antianginal agents.
