Contents
Per g Fusidic acid 20 mg, betamethasone valerate 1 mg
Indications/Uses
Inflammatory dermatoses where bacterial infection is present or likely to occur.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply a small quantity to the affected area bid until a satisfactory response is obtained.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid/Na fusidate, or to betamethasone valerate. Systemic fungal infections. Primary skin infections caused by fungi, virus or bacteria & skin manifestations in relation to TB, either untreated or uncontrolled by appropriate treatment. Perioral dermatitis & rosacea.
Special Precautions
Avoid long-term continuous topical therapy; getting into the eyes; large amounts & occlusion. Reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression may occur following systemic absorption. Increased susceptibility to infection, aggravation of existing infection, & activation of latent infection. Contains cetostearyl alcohol & chlorocresol which may cause local skin & allergic reactions. Pregnancy. Avoid applying on the breast during breastfeeding. Childn. Fusidic acid: May increase risk of developing antibiotic resistance w/ extended or recurrent use. Betamethasone valerate: Consider possible systemic absorption during treatment. May cause skin atrophy.
