Indications/Uses
Mucolytic activity in resp disorders associated w/ productive cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 200 mg tid. Childn >2-7 yr 200 mg bid, up to 2 yr 200 mg daily.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ asthma, history of peptic ulceration.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions including bronchospasm, angioedema, rashes & pruritus; hypotension or occasionally HTN; flushing, nausea & vomiting, fever, syncope, sweating, arthralgia, blurred vision, liver function disturbances, acidosis, convulsions, cardiac or resp arrest.
Drug Interactions
Possible interaction w/ thiol group when administered w/ antibiotics or other drugs.
