Deep IM injSchizophrenia or other chronic psychoses Initially 12.5 mg (6.25 mg in the elderly). Subsequent adjustments in the amounts & the dosage interval should be made according to the patient’s response; the amounts required may range from 12.5-100 mg & the intervals required may range from 2 wk to 5 or 6 wk.
May exacerbate depression & therefore is contraindicated in severely depressed patients. Hypersensitivity to fluphenazine. Severely depressed patients. Childn <12 yr.
