Indications/Uses

Short-duration circumstantial indications: insect bites & parasitic prurigo as a follow on to etiologic treatment; particularly intended for weeping, acute lesions (cream form).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration frequency up to tid for short-term use. Apply in separate spots, then spread using gentle massage to ensure that the product is entirely absorbed.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Increase in number of daily applications may exacerbate adverse effects w/o enhancing therapeutic effects. Treatment of large skin areas requires monitoring of the number of tubes used. Gradual discontinuation of treatment in some types of dermatosis (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis) by decreasing frequency of applications &/or using less potent corticosteroids or weaker pharmaceutical form. Prolonged use of corticosteroids of medium potency on the face is associated w/ risk of occurrence of corticosteroid-related dermatitis. Not recommended in patients w/ acne, rosacea & perioral dermatitis. Do not apply on skin areas affected by bacterial & mycobacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic infections or ulcerous wounds. Due to systemic penetration of corticosteroids, treatment of large skin areas or application under occlusive dressings may induce systemic effects, particularly in infants & young childn. Those effects consist in cushingoid syndrome & growth retardation. Prolonged application exposes the patient to risk of glaucoma. Visual disturbance. Use specific treatment before corticosteroid treatment in the event of bacterial or fungal superinfection of corticosteroid-responsive dermatosis. Discontinue treatment & conduct etiologic investigation if signs of local intolerance develop. Pregnancy & lactation. Avoid corticosteroids of medium potency in infants. Avoid spontaneous occlusive phenomena, which occur in skin folds or under diapers.
Adverse Reactions
Prolonged use may induce cutaneous atrophy, telangiectasia (particularly on the face), striae atrophicae (at the roots of the limbs in particular & occurring more readily in adolescents), ecchymotic purpura secondary to atrophy, & cutaneous fragility. On the face, may give rise to peri-oral dermatitis or exacerbate rosacea. Delayed cicatrization of atonic wounds, decubitus ulcers & leg ulcers. Risk of systemic effects. Acneiform or pustular rash, hypertrichosis & depigmentation. Secondary infections, particularly under occlusive dressings or in skin folds, in contact allergic dermatitis. Skin infection; allergic contact dermatitis; pruritus; skin burning sensation; erythema; rash; blurred vision.

Concomitant use of other corticosteroids in the form of tab, drops or inj may intensify side effects.
