Per MDI Ipratropium Br 20 mcg, salbutamol sulfate 100 mcg. Per Nebule Ipratropium Br 500 mcg, salbutamol sulfate 2.5 mg
Indications/Uses
Acute asthmatic attacks & exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. Management of bronchospasm in COPD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
MDI Adult 1-2 actuations tid-qid. Childn 6-12 yr 1-2 actuations tid; <5 yr 1 actuation tid. Nebule Adult, elderly, adolescent >14 yr 1 unit nebulized qid, 3-14 yr 1 unit tid, 1 mth-2 yr 1/8-½ unit tid.
Special Precautions
Hepatic & renal insufficiency. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Tremor, nervousness, tachycardia, dizziness, headache, hypokalemia, dry mouth, throat irritation & urinary retention. Allergic-type & anaphylactic reactions.
Drug Interactions
Anticholinergic drugs, β-blocking adrenergic agents, diuretic, MAOIs or TCAs.
