Acute or chronic infections due to sensitive strains of certain gram -ve bacilli eg, Enterobacter aerogenes, E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae & Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Transient neurological disturbances may occur. Nephrotoxicity. Discontinue if C. difficile-associated diarrhea is suspected or confirmed. Risk of the development of drug-resistant bacteria in the absence of a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection. Concomitant use w/ other antibiotics & curariform drugs. Impaired renal function. May affect ability to drive vehicles or use hazardous machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Childn.
