Prophylaxis to patients w/ atherosclerosis who are at risk of thromboembolic disorders eg, MI, peripheral arterial disease & stroke. In combination w/ aspirin for acute coronary syndromes, including acute MI & unstable angina, & in coronary stenting.
Prophylaxis of thromboembolic events 75 mg once daily. Management of acute ST-elevation MI In combination w/ aspirin: 75 mg once daily; patient <75 yr 300 mg loading dose for at least 4 wk. Management of unstable angina & non-Qwave MI In combination w/ aspirin: 300 mg single loading dose, followed by 75 mg once daily.
History of bleeding. Patients w/ recent transient ischaemic attack or stroke & who are at risk of recurrent ischaemic events; risk of bleeding & hematological undesirable effects. Concomitant use w/ warfarin. Avoid concomitant use w/ omeprazole or esomeprazole. Lactation. Childn.
