Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Cream Insert the filled applicator as deeply as possible into the vagina, preferably at night. Carry out 2nd treatment if necessary. 100-mg vag supp Insert 2 supp daily (preferably at night) into the vagina as high as possible for 3 consecutive days. Alternatively, 1 supp daily for 6 days preferably at night. Carry out 2nd treatment if necessary. 500-mg vag supp Insert 1 supp into the vagina as high as possible at night. Carry out 2nd treatment if necessary.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Do not use during menstrual period; finish treatment before onset of menstruation. Do not use tampons, intravag douches, spermicides or other vag products during treatment. Avoid vag intercourse in case of vag infection & during treatment. May cause damage to latex contraceptives; use alternative precautions for at least 5 days after use. Pregnancy. Not for childn <16 yr. Cream: Contains cetostearyl & benzyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions. Vag supp: Hypersensitivity to imidazoles or other vag antifungal products. Not to be used in patients w/ irregular or abnormal vag bleeding; blood-stained discharge; vulval or vag ulcers, blisters or sores; lower abdominal pain or dysuria; any adverse events eg, redness, irritation or swelling associated w/ treatment; fever or chills; nausea or vomiting; diarrhoea; foul smelling vag discharge. Patients w/ >2 candidal vaginitis infections in the last 6 mth; previous history of STD or exposure to partner w/ STD. Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy. Elderly >60 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Anaphylactic reaction, angioedema, hypersensitivity; syncope, hypotension; dyspnea; abdominal pain, nausea; rash, urticaria, pruritus; vag exfoliation, discharge & hemorrhage, vulvovag discomfort, erythema, burning sensation, pruritus & pain; application site irritation, edema, pain.
Drug Interactions
May increase oral tacrolimus & sirolimus plasma levels.
