Fluticasone furoate
Indications/Uses
Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr: Nasal (rhinorrhea, nasal congestion & itching, sneezing) & ocular symptoms (itching/burning, tearing/watering & redness of the eye) of seasonal allergic rhinitis; nasal symptoms (rhinorrhea, nasal congestion & itching, sneezing) of perennial allergic rhinitis. Childn 2-11 yr: Nasal symptoms (rhinorrhea, nasal congestion & itching, sneezing) of seasonal & perennial allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr Initially 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Maintenance: 1 spray in each nostril once daily. Childn 2-11 yr Initially 1 spray in each nostril once daily; may be increased to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Once adequate control of symptoms is achieved, reduce dose to 1 spray in each nostril.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Systemic steroid effect (prolonged high doses). Not recommended use w/ ritonavir. Ocular changes. Pregnancy & lactation. Reduction in growth velocity in childn. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Epistaxis, nasal ulceration. Headache.
