Fluocinolone acetonide
Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic dermatoses. Aplosyn-10 cream Occlusive dressing & maintenance therapy specifically for wet lesions in ped cases. Management of particularly stubborn chronic dermatoses eg, psoriasis, chronic dermatitis, lichen planus, lichen simplex chronicus, granuloma annulare. Aplosyn-10 oint Occlusive dressing & maintenance therapy specifically for dry lesions in ped cases. Aplosyn-25 cream Atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, contact dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, eczematous dermatitis, pruritus ani, lichen planus, post-anal surgery, nummular eczema, stasis dermatitis, intertrigo, exfoliative dermatitis, intertriginous psoriasis. Aplosyn-25 oint Atopic dermatoses where there is a tendency to fissuring & cracking, & requires an emollient & water protection, in hand dermatoses & during cold weather.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply thinly to the affected area bid or tid. Massage gently & thoroughly until it disappears. Change dressing every 24 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. TB, fungal, & most viral lesions of the skin (including herpes simplex, vaccinia & varicella).
Special Precautions
Discontinue in case of reactions or idiosyncrasies. Increased possibility of systemic absorption w/ occlusive dressing of total body or extensive areas is employed. For patients w/ extensive disease, it is preferable to use sequential approach. Occasional patients may show contact sensitivity to a particular dressing material or adhesive. Psoriatic patient, especially in active stage w/ recent appearance of new lesions. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Frequently w/ the use of occlusive dressing method: Burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae & miliaria.
