Concise Prescribing Info
Metformin HCl 1,000 mg, sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate 64.25 mg (equiv to sitagliptin 50 mg)
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab/day. Individualized to max sitagliptin 100 mg & metformin 2,000 mg.
Diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic pre-coma; moderate & severe renal impairment (CrCl <60 mL/min). Acute conditions potentially alter renal function (eg, dehydration, severe infection, shock, IV iodinated contrasts). Acute or chronic disease may cause tissue hypoxia (eg, cardiac or respiratory failure). Hepatic impairment; acute alcohol intoxication, alcoholism. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ Type 1 DM or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Determine serum CrCl regularly; increased incidence of metformin-related lactic acidosis w/ degree of renal impairment. Potential risk for hypoglycaemia w/ sulphonylurea or insulin combination. Pancreatitis. Pregnancy.
Drug Interactions
Minimal effect on plasma digoxin conc w/ sitagliptin.
