Indications/Uses
Post-op inflammation & pain associated w/ cataract extraction; pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (CME); external or anterior ocular inflammatory diseases eg, blepharitis, conjunctivitis & scleritis. Prevention of miosis in cataract surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Usual dose: 1 drop bd. Post-op inflammation associated w/ cataract extraction 1 drop bd 24 hr after cataract surgery & continued to 1st 2 wk of post-op period. Pseudophakic CME 1 drop bd for 3 mth. Prevention of miosis in cataract surgery Instill 1 hr prior to surgery, continued every 30 min. Others 1 drop bd.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Complicated ocular surgeries, corneal denervation, corneal epithelial defects, DM, ocular surface diseases (eg, dry eye syndrome), RA or short-period repeat ocular surgeries may be at increased risk for sight threatening corneal adverse events. Patients w/ known bleeding tendencies or are receiving other medications that may prolong bleeding time. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Abnormal sensation in eye; conjunctival hyperemia, irritation (including burning/stinging), pain, pruritus, redness; headache & iritis.
