Per g Tretinoin 0.25 mg, erythromycin 40 mg
Indications/Uses
Acne vulgaris eg, acne polymorphic predominant microcyst or inflammation, acne monomorphic papulopustular; acne conglobation; acne caused by corticoids, vit B12, vit D, INH, barbiturates, iodine, Br.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Wash skin thoroughly & pat dry. Apply to affected area once daily in the evening.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to tretinoin or other macrolides. Patients w/ history of skin epithelioma, eczema, bone fraction or excoriation, sunburn. Women of childbearing potential, pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Avoid exposure to sunlight during therapy. Sufficient observation is required since sensitization may occur; Discontinue application if hypersensitivity symptoms (eg, itching, redness, swelling) develop. Potential bacterial resistance w/ long-term use.
Adverse Reactions
Skin dryness, pruritus, desquamation, erythema, redness, edema, herpes, incrustation. Hyper- or hypopigmentation. Increased sunlight sensitivity.
Drug Interactions
Potential interaction w/ sulfur, resorcinol, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, clindamycin, lincomycin; keratolytics; medicated or abrasive soaps & cleaners, cosmetics w/ a strong drying effect, preparations w/ a high conc of alcohol, astringents or lime.
