Chromatographically purified vero cell rabies vaccine
Indications/Uses
Immunization against rabies virus.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM 0.5 mL. Intradermal 0.1 mL. Pre-exposure schedule 3 inj on day 0, 7 & 28. Inj schedule on day 28 may be administered on day 21. Vaccination of non-immunized subjects IM 0.5 mL on day 0, 3, 7, 14 & 28. Intradermal 0.1 mL on days 0, 3, 7 & 28. Vaccination of fully immunized subjects <6 mth of exposure (cell culture rabies vaccine): 1 inj on day 0; >6 mth of exposure (cell culture rabies vaccine): 2 inj on day 0 & 3.
Contraindications
Pre-exposure prophylaxis immunization: Acute fever; seriously chronic diseases, diseases of the nervous system, seriously hypersensitive diseases or known hypersensitivity. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Do not administer by IV inj or SC.
Adverse Reactions
Pain, redness, edema, pruritus & induration at the inj site. Fever, chill, asphyxia, atony, giddy, arthralgia, muscle pain, GI disorder.
Drug Interactions
Corticosteroids & immunosuppressants.
