Olopatadine is used to relieve sneezing and runny nose associated with allergic rhinitis.
Use Olopatadine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
If you are using this medicine for the first time, remove the cap and press the pump a few times until you produce an even spray. If you have not used the spray for 7 or more days, press the pump twice to get an even spray before using.
How to use:
1. Blow your nose gently to clear the nostril before using the spray.
2. Hold the pump straight and upright, placing the tip ¼ to ½ inch into the nostril.
3. Spray once into the nostril and breathe in gently. Keep your head slightly tilted forward while holding the bottle vertically upright. Do not tilt your head backwards during or after using the spray.
4. Use the spray in one nostril and repeat for the other nostril.
5. After each use, wipe and cap the nasal spray.
Make sure you know how to use your nasal spray. If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not share your nasal spray with others as it could spread infection.
Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Inform your doctor if you have any nasal disease.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Avoid spraying this medicine in your eyes. If the mist gets into your eyes, flush it with clean water. See a doctor quickly if there is pain, discomfort, blurred vision or any problems with your eyesight after the mist enters your eyes.
Olopatadine may cause you to suddenly fall asleep during your daily activities such as eating and watching television. Do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
Other side effects may include any of the following: headache, nose bleed and bitter taste.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Always notify your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
