Amlodipine besilate
Indications/Uses
Monotherapy or in combination w/ other antihypertensive agents for HTN. Monotherapy or in combination w/ antianginal agents for confirmed or suspected stable & vasospastic angina.
Dosage/Direction for Use
HTN Initially 5 mg once daily. Max: 10 mg once daily. Elderly or patient w/ hepatic insufficiency & in combination w/ other antihypertensive agents Initially 2.5 mg once daily. Stable or vasospastic angina 5-10 mg w/ lower dose suggested in elderly & patients w/ hepatic insufficiency.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ severe aortic stenosis; CHF. W/draw β-blocker by gradual dose reduction. Hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Peripheral oedema, skin erythema, facial flushing, fatigue.
