Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of nausea & vomiting.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Concomitant use w/ cimetidine (adjust dose). Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Rash or urticaria; abdominal cramps; dystonic reactions; raised serum prolactin levels; hypertensive crises in patients w/ phaeochromocytoma; possible neurological side effects.
Drug Interactions
Antidyspeptic effects may be inhibited w/ anticholinergic drugs. Effect may be antagonized w/ antimuscarinic agents & opioid analgesics. Suppressed peripheral effects of dopaminergic agonists. May influence absorption of orally administered medicines. May interfere w/ other hypoprolactinaemic agents & some diagnostic tests. Lowered oral bioavailability w/ antacids & antisecretory agents. Impaired absorption w/ reduced gastric acidity. Decreased oral bioavailability w/ prior administration of cimetidine or Na bicarbonate. Plasma levels may be increased w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors eg, azole antifungals, macrolides, HIV PIs, nefazodone.
