Why do I need this medicine?
Fenoterol is used to treat symptoms of asthma and other similar chest illnesses.

Fenoterol helps treat your asthma and other similar chest illnesses by relaxing the airways in your lungs. This helps relieve chest tightness, wheezing and cough so that you can breathe more easily.

Fenoterol may be used on its own or together with other medicines.
How do I use this medicine?
Use Fenoterol exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Fenoterol is available as different types of inhalers. It is also available as a nebulising solution, to be used with a machine known as a nebuliser.

Make sure you know how to use the specific device or machine you have been given. If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to show you how to use it.

Always rinse your mouth and throat after using your inhaler.

Fenoterol must be used regularly for it to be effective. Continue using Fenoterol even when you feel better. Do not stop using it unless instructed by the doctor.
What should I do if I have forgotten to use this medicine?
If you miss a dose of Fenoterol, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
What should I take note of while using this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you have:

- heart disease
- thyroid problems
- diabetes
- kidney disease
- liver disease

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What side effects could I experience?
Fenoterol may make you dizzy. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.

Other side effects include any of the following: palpitations, nervousness, shaky hands, headache and muscle cramps.

Inform your doctor if you feel that your heart beats faster and more forcefully, causing a "pounding" sensation in your chest.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I use this with other medicines?
Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines:

- medicines for asthma e.g. corticosteroids
- diuretics (water pill)
- heart medicines e.g. digoxin

This list does not include all medicines that may interact with Fenoterol.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
