Description
KETOTOP contains 30mg of ketoprofen for transdermal application.
KETOTOP is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic properties, showing steady, strong and prolonged efficacy due to its unique and rapid absorption rate through skin.
The chemical name for ketoprofen is 2-(-3-benzoylphenyl)propionic acid.
Indications/Uses
KETOTOP is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of the following: arthritis deformans (rheumatoid arthritis); periarthritis, humelo-scapularis (frozen, painful or stiff shoulder); peritendinitis, tendinitis; muscular pain; pain, swelling resulted from trauma (contusion, distortion, etc.).
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 plaster of KETOTOP should be applied to the affected part twice daily.
Contraindications
KETOTOP is contraindicated in patients who have shown hypersensitivity to it. KETOTOP should not be given to patients in whom aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug induced asthma or other allergic-type reactions.
Bronchial asthma patients should be cautiously administered.
Special Precautions
General: Treatment of this preparation is not a causal - therapy but a symptomatic therapy.
In case of using for treatment of inflammation followed skin infection, appropriate antibacterial or antifungal agent should be administered cautiously at the same time, because effects of ketoprofen may mask the usual signs and symptoms of skin infection.
Others: Do not use for eye and mucosa.
Temporary pain or irritation of skin may occur when the epidermis is deficient. In such a case, it should be administered cautiously.
Do not use for occlusive dressing technique.
Use in Children: It is not established whether using ketoprofen for children is safe or not.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: It is not established whether using ketoprofen in pregnancy is safe or not. Therefore avoid the wide or excessive use during the prolonged term.
Adverse Reactions
The skin: Occasionally redness, rashes, pruritus, dryness and irritation, and rarely swelling may occur. If these symptoms are serious, treatment with this preparation should be discontinued.
Hypersensitivity reaction: Rarely anaphylactoid reaction (urticaria, dyspnea, etc.) may occur. If these symptoms appeared, treatment with this preparation should be discontinued.
Storage
Keep tightly closed. Store below 30°C. Avoid direct light.
