Disruption of normal gastrointestinal (GI) function is a common consequence from many aspects of our modern lifestyle such as high stress levels, alcohol consumption, illnesses, surgery, infection and medications. Recent clinical studies indicates HEXBIO MCP Granule plays a critical role in improving stool frequency and stool consistency in chronic constipation, promotes faster return and recovery of gut function after abdominal surgery, aids in glycaemic control in people with type-2 diabetes, and has the potential to improve renal profile and liver function in humans. HEXBIO MCP Granule supplies an abundance of strain-specific microbial cell preparation (MCP) that stabilizes the intestinal barrier, stimulates cellular growth, activates mucus production, gut motility, and enhances overall immunity. HEXBIO MCP Granule is therefore, widely used to restore and maintain overall GI health. Common GI conditions includes constipation, diarrhoea (AGE, AAD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD), dyspepsia, urinary tract infection and dysmenorrhea.
Action
Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: HEXBIO MCP Granule is a Microbial Cell Preparation (MCP) containing a unique formulation of six strain-specific microorganism (6) (Lactobacillus acidophilus BCMC 12130, Lactobacillus casei BCMC 12313, Lactobacillus lactis BCMC 12451, Bifidobacterium bifidum BCMC 02290, Bifidobacterium infantis BCMC 02129, and Bifidobacterium longum BCMC 02120). These MCP-6 are a ubiquitous component of the normal gastrointestinal microbiota and do not have any pathogenic potential. Upon exposure to bile salt in the duodenum of the small intestine, MCP-6 are stimulated to produce Bile Salt Hydrolase (BSH) enzyme. HEXBIO MCP Granule work via their BSH activities, converting bile salts into primary bile acids. Primary bile acids play a fundamental role in increasing water secretion into the colon, thus stimulating gut motility. These MCP-6 also have inherent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria and viruses, resulting in increased immunity. Coupled with their high gastrointestinal acid and bile tolerance, BSH activity and enhanced defence mechanism in the gastrointestinal tract, the specific Lactobacillus sp. and Bifidobacterium sp. strains of HEXBIO MCP Granule can lower the pH level of the colon (optimum acidic environment), enhance peristalsis, reduce colonic transit time, and contribute to the overall recovery and restoration of balance of the intestinal microbiota.
Pharmacokinetics: No signs of liver toxicity has been reported with the administration of HEXBIO MCP Granule. This product has a fast onset of action which improves symptoms shortly after consumption. All the MCP-6 in HEXBIO have been proven to be gastric acid resistant and bile salt resistant, thus able to survive via intestinal tract transit. This was demonstrated in a human clinical trial whereby a significantly increased strains of Bifidobacterium sp. and Lactobacillus sp. were detected in the faecal samples of subjects given HEXBIO compared to placebo group.
