Fe deficiency in adults when oral Fe prep cannot be used due to intolerance or in case of demonstrated lack of oral Fe therapy effect & need to rapidly deliver to Fe stores.
2-4 mL 2 or 3 times wkly depending on Hb level. Rapid delivery to body Fe stores Total dose infusion up to 20 mg/kg total replacement dose over 4-6 hr.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to other parenteral Fe products. Non-Fe deficiency anaemia (eg, haemolytic anaemia), Fe overload or disturbances in Fe utilisation (eg, haemochromatosis, haemosiderosis), decompensated liver cirrhosis & hepatitis, acute or chronic infection. Acute renal failure.
Not to be concomitantly used w/ oral Fe prep. History of severe asthma, eczema or other atopic allergy, immune or inflammatory conditions (eg, SLE, RA). Avoid rapid IV inj administration. Not to be used during pregnancy & lactation. Not to be used in childn <14 yr.
