Adverse Reactions
Adverse effects reported by persons taking chromium supplements are uncommon and usually mild. The following may be experienced by persons taking Bio-Chromium: Gastrointestinal disorders: stomach ache, nausea, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea.
General disorders & administration local site conditions: swelling, oedema.
Nervous system disorders: headache, dizziness.
Skin & subcutaneous tissue disorders: rash, itching.
Safety: The chromium source (chromium-enriched yeast) in Bio-Chromium contains chromium in the same chemical form (Cr+3) as naturally found in food. Chromium as Cr+3 has low toxicity, with no adverse effects observed at intakes of 1000 - 2000 μg/d [B-9256]. No adverse effects were reported in a review of 15 randomised, controlled trials [A-6741].
