Zoledronic acid monohydrate
Indications/Uses
Prevention of skeletal related events eg, pathology fractures, spinal compression, bone radiation or surgery or tumour-induced hypercalcemia in patients w/ advanced bone malignancies. Hypercalcemia of malignancy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV 4 mg/5 mL conc should be further diluted w/ 100 mL of 0.9% NaCl or 5% glucose soln prior to infusion of no <15 min.
Special Precautions
Not to be mixed w/ Ca or other divalent cation containing infusion soln eg, Lactated Ringer's soln & should be administered separately from all other drugs in no <15 min. Patients should be well hydrated prior to & following administration.
