Per caplet Triprolidine HCl 2.5 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 60 mg. Per 5 mL syr Triprolidine HCl 1.25 mg, pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of sneezing & nasal congestion due to colds.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 1 caplet or 1 tsp. Childn 6-12 yr ½ caplet or ½ tsp. All doses to be taken 3 times daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients sensitive to ephedrine, phenylpropanolamine, phenylephrine. Severe HTN. Concomitant treatment w/ MAOI.
Special Precautions
Heart disease. DM, glaucoma, hyperthyroid, hypertrophic prostate. Discontinue if insomnia, palpitation & dizziness occur. Concomitant treatment w/ antihypertensives, TCAs, decongestants, appetite suppressants & amphetamine-like psychostimulants. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Impaired liver & kidney function. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended for childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, tremor, depression or excitation of CNS, tinnitus, tachycardia, arrhythmia, palpitation, dry mouth, nasal dryness, dry throat, headache, insomnia, skin rash, urinary retention, blurred vision, restlessness, hallucination, GI disorders.
Drug Interactions
Sympathomimetics, appetite suppressants, MAOIs, amphetamine-like psychostimulants, alcohol.
