Ranitidine HCl
Indications/Uses
Short-term treatment of acute gastric & duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis & pathological hypersecretory conditions (eg, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Gastric & duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis 1 tab twice daily or 2 tab as a single dose before bedtime for 4-8 wk. Pathological hypersecretory condition 1 tab 2-3 times daily. Acute peptic ulcer Maintenance dose: 1 tab/day at night. Impaired kidney function CrCl <50 mL/min 150 mg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Long-term use. Impaired liver & kidney function. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, dizziness, abdominal pain, increased serum creatinine level, transient increase in serum transaminase & α-glutamyl transpeptidase.
Drug Interactions
May enhance suppression of gastric acid secretion w/ antimuscarinic agents.
