Domperidone
Indications/Uses
Dyspepsia accompanied by delayed gastric emptying, esophageal reflux & esophagitis. Epigastric & abdominal fullness, nausea & vomiting due to various causes.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Functional dyspepsia Adult 10 mg 3 times daily. Nausea & vomiting Adult 10-20 mg 3-4 times daily. Childn 0.25 mg/kg 3 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Special Precautions
Co-administration w/ drugs that may cause extrapyramidal reactions (eg, phenothiazines). Caution when used w/ atropine & other anticholinergics. Hepatic or renal failure. Pregnancy & lactation. Neonates.
Adverse Reactions
Rashes & other allergic reactions, acute dystonic reactions.
Drug Interactions
Antagonism of therapeutic effect w/ anticholinergics. Bioavailability reduced by antacids & antisecretory agents.
