Post-op nausea & vomiting: Prevention Initially 8 mg tab given 1 hr before anesth, followed by 8 mg every 8 hr for up to 16 hr.
Treatment 4 mg as single dose by IM or slow IV inj.
Highly emetogenic chemotherapy Adult Single dose of 8 mg by slow IV inj or 15 min infusion given immediately before chemotherapy, followed by a constant infusion of 1 mg/hr for up to 24 hr or by 2 further doses of 8 mg slow IV inj or 15 min infusion 4 hr apart. Regimen is followed by 8 mg 12 hrly for 5 days.
Less emetogenic chemotherapy 8 mg slow IV inj or 15 min infusion immediately before chemotherapy, followed by 8 mg tab 12 hrly for 5 days
Childn >4 yr 5 mg/mL IV over 15 min immediately before chemotherapy followed by 4 mg 12 hrly for 5 days.
RT 8 mg tab 3 times daily commencing 1-2 hr prior to first fraction of RT.
