Immunomodulator for viral infection & immunodeficiency conditions.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >5 yr 50 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses, may be increased to 100 mg/kg/day in 4-6 divided doses. Childn <5 yr 50 mg/kg/day, may be increased to 100 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Gout, patients w/ heart disease who are receiving digitalis therapy.
Adverse Reactions
Increased uric acid levels in serum & urine, rash or urticaria, fatigue or malaise, diarrhea.
J05AX05 - inosine pranobex ; Belongs to the class of other antivirals. Used as a direct acting antiviral in the systemic treatment of viral infections.
