Domperidone (tab: maleate)
Indications/Uses
Dyspepsia associated w/ slow gastric emptying or esophagitis reflux. Nausea & vomiting due to chemotherapy, digitalis, levodopa, radiotherapy, various causes.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Chronic dyspepsia Adult 1 tab 3 times daily. Childn 0.25 mg/kg 3 times daily. Nausea & vomiting Adult 1-2 tab 3-4 times daily. Childn 0.25-0.5 mg/kg.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 15-30 min before meals.
Contraindications
GI bleeding, mechanical obstruction & perforation. Prolactinoma.
Special Precautions
Not for chronic nausea & vomiting. Long-term use. Pregnancy & lactation. Infant.
Adverse Reactions
Galactorrhea, gynecomastia, transient intestinal spasm, allergic reactions.
Drug Interactions
Antacids, antisecretory agents.
