Procaterol HCl
Indications/Uses
Dyspnea due to bronchial asthma & COPD, chronic & acute bronchitis, pulmonary emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult 1 tab of 0.05 mg. Childn 1 tab of 0.025 mg; <6 yr 1-1.25 mcg/kg. Syr Adult 50 mcg. Childn >6 yr 25 mcg/5 mL; <6 yr 1.125 mcg (0.2-0.25 mg/kg). All doses to be taken twice daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, DM, HTN, heart disease. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Palpitation, tremor, headache. Syr: Tachycardia, nausea & vomiting; skin rash.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ catecholamine (eg, epinephrine) may cause arrhythmia & cardiac arrest. Isoproterenol, theophylline, betamethasone, diprophylline, prednisolone, hydrocortisone Na succinate, furosemide.
