Silodosin
Indications/Uses
Bladder outlet obstruction associated w/ benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 4 mg twice daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after breakfast & evening meal.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ orthostatic hypotension, impaired hepatic & renal function. Concomitant treatment w/ PDE-5 inhibitors. Operate potentially hazardous machinery eg, driving a car w/ caution.
Adverse Reactions
Retrograde ejaculation, thirst, diarrhea, loose stools, dizziness on standing up, nasal congestion, light-headed feeling, headache.
Drug Interactions
Elevated plasma conc w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors. Diminished ability to regulate BP on standing w/ hypotensive agents. Enhanced hypotensive effect w/ PDE-5 inhibitors.
