Sucralfate
Indications/Uses
Gastric & duodenal ulcer. Chronic gastritis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Tab 2 tab 3-4 times daily. Max: 8 tab/day. Duration of therapy: Max of 8 wk. Susp 2 spoonfuls 4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Serious renal impairment.
Special Precautions
May cause osteomalacia in patients receiving long-term phosphate diet. Renal impairment. Other antacids may be given w/in 30 min before or after dosing. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, gastric disturbances, dry mouth, dizziness, skin disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ tetracycline will form a complex substance which is difficult to absorb.
