Indications/Uses

Dosage/Direction for Use
Post-op nausea & vomiting 4 mg via IM or slow IV inj. Prevention of nausea & vomiting due to highly emetogenic chemotherapy Adult Initially 8 mg via slow IV or by 15-min infusion immediately prior to chemotherapy, followed by constant infusion of 1 mg/hr for up to 24 hr or by further 2 doses of 8 mg via slow IV or 15-min infusion 4 hrly. Alternatively, can be followed by 8 mg orally twice daily for <5 days. Less emetogenic chemotherapy 8 mg via slow IV inj or 15-min infusion immediately before chemotherapy followed by 8 mg orally twice daily for <5 days. Childn >4 yr 5 mg/mL IV for 15 min immediately before chemotherapy followed by 4 mg orally 12 hrly for <5 days. Hepatic impairment Max: 8 mg daily.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, constipation, hot flushing in the head & epigastrium, sedation, diarrhea.
