Contents
Methampyrone 500 mg, belladonna extr 5 mg, papaverine HCl 30 mg
Indications/Uses
Spastic disorders of the GIT, GUT, biliary tract. Dysmenorrhoea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab 3 times daily. Childn ½-1 tab 3 times daily.
Contraindications
Closed-angle glaucoma; urinary or GI obstruction, intestinal atony, paralytic ileus, asthma, myasthenia gravis, ulcerative colitis, hiatal hernia, serious hepatic or renal disease.
Special Precautions
Due to risk of provoking hyperpyrexia, use w/ caution in patients especially childn, when ambient temp is high. Elderly & in conditions characterised by tachycardia, COPD.
Adverse Reactions
Increased IOP, cycloplegia, mydriasis, dry mouth, blurred vision, flushing, urinary hesitancy & retention, tachycardia, palpitations, constipation, elevated body temp, CNS excitation, rash, vomiting, photophobia.
Drug Interactions
Anticholinergic activity may be increased by other parasympatholytics. Guanethidine, histamine & reserpine may antagonise the inhibitory effect of anticholinergics on gastric acid secretion. Antacids may impair absorption.
