Amoxicillin

Indications/Uses

Infections of the resp tract, GUT, skin & soft tissues.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 250-500 mg 8 hrly. Childn 2-10 yr 5 mL, <2 yr 2.5 mL. To be taken 3 times daily. Acute gonorrhea 3 g as a single dose.

Administration

May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to penicillins.

Special Precautions

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Renal impairment, lymphatic leukemia, superinfection.

Adverse Reactions

Hypersensitivity reactions, GI disturbances.
