Reduce fever in childn. Relief mild to moderate pain eg, toothache or tooth extraction, headache, post-op pain, rheumatic pain of bone & joint, sprain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Fever 20 mg/kg daily in divided doses. Mild to moderate pain, feverAdult & childn >7 yr 10 mL 3-4 times daily, 3-7 yr 5 mL 3-4 times daily, 1-2 yr 2.5 mL 3-4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe & active peptic ulcer. Patients who have asthma, rhinitis or urticaria after using acetosal or other NSAIDs. 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
Special Precautions
History of peptic ulcer. Heart failure, HTN, other diseases which cause fluid retention. Blood clotting disorders. Asthma. SLE. Concomitant use w/ acetosal, other ibuprofen-containing drugs, warfarin anticoagulants. Kidney dysfunction. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <1 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, gastric pain, burning sensation on the upper abdominal, gastric bleeding, skin rash, bronchospasm, reduced visual acuity, temporary color blindness.
