Mild or moderate UTI 250 mg twice daily. Severe UTI, mild or moderate resp tract infections, bacterial diarrhea, chancroid, typhoid or paratyphoid fever 500 mg twice daily. Acute uncomplicated gonorrhoea 250-500 mg daily as a single dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to minimise GI discomfort. Do not take w/ antacids, Fe or dairy products.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, anorexia, dizziness, headache, fatigue, visual disturbances, insomnia, skin rash, transient increase of LFT especially in patients w/ a history of liver diseases.
