Cefuroxime
Indications/Uses
Pharyngitis & tonsillitis, otitis media, lower resp tract infection, UTI, skin & soft tissue infections, post-op infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 750 mg-1.5 g 3 times daily. Infant & childn 30-100 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses. Gonorrhea 1.5 g as a single dose.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Anaphylactic reaction to penicillins. Renal impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, pruritus, urticaria & dizziness. Superinfections.
